Sufi : Timewave zero

Dec 05, 2008 in Reviews // Promos

With a debut album from Sufi, Dacru records releases a full-on psy adventure with Timewave Zero.

Sufi

1. Sim City

2. Out there (ft Electric Wind)

3. Gravitational wave

4. Sleep is good

5. Brainactivity

6. Excarbur

7. N Directory

8. Antilope (vs DigiCult)

9. This Tortion

Review: Starting off the album with less melodic but more blippy and zinggy psy Sufi arranges his psy-sounds with a solid groove. As the album progresses we get to hear more melodic and beatifull passages while still holding on to that techy drive of the first couple of tracks. The last two tracks of the album really standing out with hypnotic drive and basslines that are like butter and bread to dance to. The whole project and CD looks very well put together as all Dacru releases, though i specially enjoy the colors and vibrance of this release.

Review:
Psysex adds an oldschool element to his newest release on Hommega. Blurring the lines between minimal, progressive, and psychedelic groove, Psysex tries a lot of different yet totally appealing elements I’m sure you will find will add a dynamic element to dance floors.

Review:
Back to the heavyweight full-on as Sharp sticks to its title. Interesting that they make a more vocal tracks but with infected leading the way into main culture with vocals I see a lot more vocal tracks than just sampled vocal chops. Some bouncy booms and crunchy percs along with a special melodic element of black and white style keep the album wonderfull the whole way through even with the vocals and guitars which im not usually an uberfan of.

Review: A very strong visual on the cover makes you anticipate much as do the intros and builds in this album, but to me it seems like most of the tracks are just fillers in a set (great fillers) but mostly fillers with not much unique element grabbing your balls. Though the elements are very nicely put together and grooves very firmly driving the themes are vaguely memorable which seems to numb some deadly full-on.
